Pale Designs: A Poisoner's Handbook By Steven Creech and Kevin Ruesch

Poisons exist in abundance in fantasy worlds, their deadly touch waiting within ancient traps, slathered upon readied weapons, or pooling within a fanged and monstrous maw. Some poisons are magical creations, concocted by dark powers in secret laboratories. Other toxins are naturally occurring on many worlds across the planes. Still other venoms drip from the fangs and scales of fearsome beasts.

Pale Designs: A Poisoner’s Handbook presents an array of new poisons for use by both players and Game Masters.

New rules for handling poisons in a campaign are presented, along with additional options to allow the heroes of the land safer access to poisons. There are also new prestige classes, equipment, and magic items for assassins and others interested in poison use.

What the Reviewers Say...
"Having read through this book, I've come to the conclusion that I wouldn't want to be without it. Kudos to Steven Creech and Kevin Ruesch for their fine work." -- Lars Kare M. Sukka, RPGUnited

"Pale Designs does well. It takes a tricky subject, doesn’t wimp out and the result is a genuinely useful book." -- Wyrdmaster, GameWyrd

"This definitely is the poison book of all poison books and is more suited for DMs than players, though if you love playing assassins and other sneaky-sneakies with Poison Use, then this book is for you." -- Bradford Ferguson, Silven Crossroads

"In the end, if you’re looking for a complete and comprehensive treatment of poisons that ranges from everything from feats, spells, monsters and PrCs, but doesn’t include any details on how the poisons work, then Pale Designs is for you. Rating: 4 out of 5." -- Joe G. Kushner, EN World

"Doubtlessly, this is the single most comprehensive work on poisons that I have yet seen for any edition of Dungeons & Dragons! If you use poisons in your game (and what DM doesn’t?), you need this book! It’s that simple." -- John Girgsby, d20 Magazine Rack

"This is a fine book. While I at first worried about the specific theme of the book, I later realized that Bastion is taking charge in the 'finalizing' department. Like they did with Alchemy and Herbalists before, they wrote the d20 book on a subject that others can add to and follow, and they did a really good job." -- Jeff Ibach, Role-Play News

"Pale Designs has made poisons something to be feared again." -- Thomas Shultz, Legion's Realm (February, 2003)
